Prime Minister Modi Celebrates Diwali with Armed Forces in Kachchh, Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with the Border Security Force (BSF), Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel at Lakki Nala in the Sir Creek area of Kachchh, Gujarat. This region is known for its challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions. Since 2014, PM Modi has made it a tradition to spend Diwali with the troops.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi extended Diwali greetings to the nation, wishing everyone a healthy, happy, and prosperous life. He also paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat, on National Unity Day, acknowledging Patel’s dedication to the unity and sovereignty of India.
PM Modi attended a parade and an air show by the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force. In a similar spirit, top defense officials are celebrating with troops across various forward locations in the country. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the ‘Desh ka Vallabh’ statue and a museum in Tawang virtually from Tezpur.
Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan is with troops in the Andaman and Nicobar Command, while Indian Army chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi is in Arunachal Pradesh. Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi is with naval troops in Porbandar, Gujarat, and Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh is in Jammu and Kashmir.
