On October 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the death of TPG Nambiar, the chairman of BPL Group, an Indian electronics company. PM Modi described Nambiar as a “pioneering innovator and industrialist” who was dedicated to strengthening India’s economy. TPG Nambiar, commonly known as TPG, was also the father-in-law of BJP leader and former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. Tharoor highlighted Nambiar’s role in establishing a state-of-the-art facility in Palakkad, Kerala, after acquiring British Physical Laboratories in 1961 and renaming it BPL Limited.
