President Zelenskyy Meets President Biden and World Leaders at UN Assembly

New York [US], September 26: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Joe Biden during the 79th United Nations General Assembly. Zelenskyy updated Biden on the situation in Ukraine and discussed the Plan of Victory, which they will further negotiate in Washington.

Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude for the US’s support, stating, “I met with President Biden on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and expressed my gratitude for the unwavering U.S. support, which is saving lives and helping Ukraine defend its independence.”

Additionally, Zelenskyy attended a G7+ meeting focused on Ukraine’s recovery, where over 30 countries and the European Union signed a declaration to support Ukraine’s post-conflict recovery. He was joined by President Biden and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of collective efforts for lasting peace, comparing it to the post-World War II Marshall Plan.

In another meeting, Zelenskyy discussed Ukraine’s security and preparations for a second peace summit with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He thanked the UK for its support since the conflict began.

Earlier, Zelenskyy addressed the UNGA, urging global leaders to support Ukraine and adopt his proposal to restore internationally recognized boundaries between Russia and Ukraine. He called for the withdrawal of Russian forces to end hostilities.
