President Droupadi Murmu highlighted the strong bond between India and Maldives during a banquet at Rashtrapati Bhavan, welcoming President Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohammed. She emphasized the shared values of democracy and the close geographical ties between the two nations. President Muizzu acknowledged the historical maritime connections and cultural exchanges between the countries, noting that India serves as a second home for many Maldivians. Both leaders agreed to advance their bilateral partnership for mutual benefit.

The event was attended by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and other dignitaries. President Muizzu’s visit, upon President Murmu’s invitation, marks his second trip to India this year.
