DCT Abu Dhabi and National Library Team Up for Cultural Growth

The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and the National Library and Archives have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cultural collaboration and knowledge exchange. The agreement was signed by Abdullah Majed Al Ali, Director-General of the National Library and Archives, and Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi, at a ceremony held at the DCT Abu Dhabi headquarters.

Under this MoU, both organizations will work together to organize activities and events that enrich the cultural landscape and promote cultural sustainability in the UAE. The agreement includes the establishment of awareness and training workshops on cultural projects, a community responsibility program for preserving Abu Dhabi's cultural heritage, and initiatives to enhance Arabic language literacy for all community members.

The collaboration also involves cooperation in the publishing sector and coordination for organizing and hosting events and programs, including joint lectures and other activities. Abdullah Majed Al Ali highlighted the importance of this partnership in supporting a knowledge-based economy and facilitating cultural cooperation for the nation's benefit. He expressed enthusiasm for the joint efforts to exchange knowledge, expertise, and innovative experiences in culture and museums.

Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani emphasized the commitment to preserving and promoting cultural heritage for future generations. He noted that the collaboration would enhance expertise and enrich Abu Dhabi's cultural ecosystem, providing resources for researchers in archiving, libraries, cultural heritage preservation, and key programs targeting youth.
