Global Leaders Gather for Solar Energy

From November 3 to 6, 2024, New Delhi will host the Seventh Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly at Bharat Mandapam. Leaders from 120 member and signatory countries will attend, focusing on solar energy’s role in addressing climate change and energy access challenges.

Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, emphasized ISA’s growth as a platform for global solar cooperation. He highlighted solar energy’s potential to transform global climate action due to its clean, reliable, and accessible nature.

Ajay Yadav, Joint Secretary of MNRE, discussed challenges in global solar deployment, such as investments and infrastructure. He noted ISA’s efforts in diversifying supply chains and boosting solar demand through collaborations.

ISA’s Global Influence

Ajay Mathur, Director General of ISA, stated that ISA is pivotal in achieving Sustainable Development Goals related to clean energy and climate action. He called for accelerated efforts to meet the 2030 Agenda goals.

The assembly will address solar deployment in energy-limited regions and discuss initiatives in entrepreneurship, skill development, and finance mobilization.
