Police Investigate Two Separate Cases of Assault and Blackmail in Mumbai
Police in Mumbai have registered cases against multiple individuals in two separate incidents of assault and blackmail.
First Incident
In the first case, a 22-year-old woman from Nalasopara, Palghar, reported that Sanju Srivastava, Naveen Singh, and Hema Singh allegedly raped and blackmailed her. Sanju and Naveen had called her under the pretext of giving her money, mixed intoxicants in her water, and then raped her. Naveen recorded a video and used it to blackmail her. Sanju is associated with a political party and runs a union at Chitrikaran Studio in Naigaon. All three accused are currently absconding.
Second Incident
In a separate incident, police arrested Anees Shaikh for allegedly raping and blackmailing a 16-year-old girl, while another suspect, Jian, is on the run. The girl, a resident of Malad, met Shaikh through social media in August. Shaikh called her to Nalasopara for a tuition class, took her to a lodge, and allegedly raped her. The Achole Police Station has filed a case under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
