Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit newly constructed flats for residents of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters at Swabhiman Apartments, Ashok Vihar, Delhi. This visit is part of the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project aimed at providing better living conditions for JJ cluster residents. The project, completed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), offers 1,675 new flats with modern amenities.
Eligible beneficiaries will receive keys to their new homes, contributing a nominal amount towards the cost. The government covers the majority of the construction expenses, ensuring affordable housing for the residents.
PM Modi will also inaugurate two major urban redevelopment projects: the World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar and the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar. The WTC project replaces old quarters with modern commercial towers, featuring eco-friendly practices like solar energy and rainwater harvesting. The GPRA project includes 28 towers with over 2,500 residential units, promoting sustainable living.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the CBSE's Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, built to high environmental standards. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for new projects at Delhi University, including campuses in Surajmal Vihar and Dwarka, and Veer Savarkar College in Najafgarh.
