In New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Donald Trump for winning the US Presidential elections. Pradeep Bhandari, a spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stated that Trump considers PM Modi as one of the world’s most popular leaders and is eager to collaborate with him for global peace. Bhandari emphasized that India’s global image has strengthened under PM Modi’s leadership, as evidenced by Trump’s mention of Modi during his campaign.

Bhandari also criticized Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for not supporting Indians, contrasting them with the global respect PM Modi receives. He expressed optimism about the growing relationship between India and the US under the leadership of Modi and Trump.

Additionally, Indian Economist Suriya Narayanan highlighted the potential benefits of Trump’s victory for India’s exports. With Trump’s plan to impose a 60% duty on Chinese goods, Narayanan sees an opportunity for India to increase its exports, particularly in agriculture and pharmaceuticals.
