Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 28: A petition has been filed in the Karnataka High Court, demanding a CBI investigation against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the alleged MUDA Scam. The petitioner, Snehamayi Krishna, believes that the investigation must be handled by the central probe agency as the Lokayukta operates under the government and the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Referring to the Lokayukta report, Snehamayi Krishna mentioned that the special court has already objected to and criticized the Lokayukta’s findings. Speaking to reporters, Krishna said, “We have asked for a CBI enquiry as Lokayukta works under the preview of the government and CM of Karnataka. CBI must investigate as there are many directions by the Supreme Court as well. Lokayukta had already given its report and the special court objected and slammed Lokayukta for their report which people of the state know. In B Nagendra’s case, SIT gave clearance to him, then ED objected to it and an FIR was filed. As per court order FIR has been filed. Enquiry officers asked me to come whenever required, I have assured them that I will give all documents related to the case.”

Advocate Vasant Kumar, representing Snehamayi Krishna, stated that they have filed a writ petition seeking High Court directions to hand over the case to the CBI for a fair investigation. “We have filed a writ petition making appeal to direct to hand over the MUDA investigation to the CBI, it will come hearing on Monday. We have also referred in the yesterday’s special court order in the petition, prima facie is that MUDA is a big scam, that’s why we have requested the high court for the CBI inquiry in the case for the free and fair inquiry into the case,” Kumar explained.

Earlier, a Special Court in Bengaluru ordered the Karnataka Lokayukta to investigate Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on allegations of illegalities in the allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to his wife Parvathi by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The Lokayukta’s Mysuru district police have been directed to conduct the investigation and submit their report within three months. This order followed the Karnataka High Court’s decision to vacate its interim stay order, which had deferred the decision on the complaints against Siddaramaiah.

The matter involves allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah regarding the illegal allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to his wife Parvathi by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
