Pakistan Tries to Stop Baloch National Gathering: Imaan Mazari and Sadia Baloch Speak Out
Gwadar, Pakistan – July 26, 2024: Pakistan is making efforts to stop the Baloch National Gathering, set for July 28, which aims to support the Baloch people and highlight their issues. The Baloch Solidarity Committee, also known as the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, faces obstacles from Pakistani defence forces in their activities.
Human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari shared a video on ‘X’ stating that volunteers and organizers of the Machi are being targeted and not allowed to collect funds. She mentioned that Baloch women are specifically targeted, arrested, and their families threatened in areas like Awaran, Khuzdar, and DG Khan.
Mazari urged her fellow citizens to support the Baloch people and raise their voices against the Pakistani administration.
In another incident, Sadia Baloch, a law student at Punjab University in Lahore, reported that officials harassed her family, forcing them to leave their home. She stated that she has the right to participate in peaceful political activities and appealed to human rights activists to speak out against the state’s actions.
Baloch emphasized her constitutional right to participate in peaceful political activities and called for support against the state’s crackdowns on Baloch political workers.
