Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Urges President Zardari to Sign 26th Constitutional Amendment

It includes 27 clauses and proposes amendments to various Articles of the constitution.
The bill faced opposition, particularly from Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which protested, claiming it would undermine the judiciary’s powers. Despite initial protests, the Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) party’s suggestions were incorporated, leading to their support. The PTI has decided to abstain from voting on the amendments and plans to protest against its members who participate in the voting process. They argue that the current government lacks the legitimacy to amend the constitution.
