Pakistan Cricket Board Announces ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour Amid India’s Participation Concerns

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour Begins in Pakistan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the start of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 trophy tour, beginning in Islamabad on November 16. The tour will also visit Skardu, Murree, Hunza, and Muzaffarabad. The PCB shared this news on X, inviting fans to see the trophy that Sarfaraz Ahmed lifted in 2017.

India’s Participation Uncertain

There is ongoing uncertainty regarding India’s participation in the tournament. India has expressed security concerns about traveling to Pakistan for the event. The PCB has reached out to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for clarification on India’s decision. The ICC has confirmed that India will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy in 2025.

Possible Hybrid Model

In response to India’s stance, the PCB is considering hosting the tournament in a hybrid model, similar to the Asian Trophy held last year. However, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently stated that no discussions have taken place regarding this approach.

The last bilateral series between India and Pakistan was in 2012-13, and they now primarily compete in ICC tournaments and the Asia Cup.
