Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, visited the Philippines and met with key leaders to discuss enhancing cooperation between India and the Philippines. On January 15, he met with Enrique Manalo, the Philippines Secretary of Foreign Affairs, to explore opportunities in commerce, defense, technology, and culture.
Margherita also met with Philippines President Bongbong Marcos, expressing gratitude for his support in strengthening the India-Philippines partnership as the two countries celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations. Margherita began his visit by paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Miriam College in Manila and interacting with the college's president, Mrs. Laura Quiambao-del Rosario.

Margherita's official tour includes visits to Palau and Micronesia from January 14 to 21. He will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Palau's President Surangel Whipps Jr. and discuss development projects. In Micronesia, he will hold meetings with the leadership, marking the first ministerial-level visit from India.
