In the wake of Cyclone Dana, Odisha’s Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja assessed the damage and relief efforts in the state. He reported that 92% of connectivity has been restored, with Bhadrak district still needing attention. About 22 lakh electricity consumers were affected, and 8.1 lakh people sought shelter, with most returning home as conditions improved.
Rescue operations were conducted in Tala Gopabindha village, Bhadrak district. Some residents suffered snake bites but received treatment. Waterlogging issues are being addressed, and normalcy is expected by Sunday.
Chief Minister Charan Majhi expressed gratitude for the teamwork that led to zero casualties. The cyclone, with winds of 100-110 kmph, caused damage but no loss of life. The Indian Navy, Air Force, and National Disaster Response Force played key roles in relief efforts.
