Odisha Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the state government's goal is to ensure every poor person in Odisha has land for housing within the next five years. He emphasized that the project will be executed in a time-bound manner, reflecting the administration's commitment to rapid and effective implementation.
In addition to residential land allocations, the scheme also addresses the needs of educational institutions facing land shortages. Pujari stated, "There are a lot of educational institutes that do not have enough land. They would also be provided with land by the end of this year."
The revenue department has been tasked with facilitating the process for beneficiaries, ensuring smooth land distribution and support.
BJP MLA Agasti Behera highlighted the contrast with previous administrations, saying, "The BJD and Congress are working together to obstruct the functioning of the Vidhan Sabha. In contrast, our government has introduced a very good plan. The previous government failed to provide even an inch of land to ST/SC and OBC communities, but we are committed to ensuring that everyone receives land, housing, water, and electricity."
Behera assured that "in the next five years, no one would be without land."
