Odisha Government Forms New Committee to Oversee Jagannath Temple Valuables

The Odisha government has reconstituted a committee under the leadership of Justice Biswanath Rath. This committee will supervise the inventory of valuables, including jewelry, stored in the Ratna Bhandar of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.

The official order stated, “The Government have been pleased to dissolve the High-Level Committee constituted vide Notification No.JTA-04/2024/2933/L, dated 02.03.2024 for supervising the process of inventorisation of valuables including jewelleries stored in the Ratna Bhandar of the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri in principle.”

The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, is a significant religious site dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu. The temple is one of the tallest monuments in India, standing at about 214 feet high and covering around ten acres.
