Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, announced the celebration of the International Day of Millets on November 10-11. This event, declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Bhubaneswar. The celebration includes 10 technical sessions over two days, focusing on forgotten crops like millets, with a mascot named Milli.

The mission aims to educate people on healthy eating and living. International participants and experts will share insights during the symposium to enlighten the state’s residents.

At a conference by iFOREST on ‘Just Energy Transition To Support Green Growth And Green Jobs In Odisha’, Singh Deo highlighted Odisha’s move towards sustainable power generation. He emphasized the use of DMF funds in mining districts to develop green energy, aligning with guidelines set by the Prime Minister for an environment-friendly future.
