NSUI Protests Over NEET-UG 2024 Exam Issues in Varanasi

The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) workers held a protest in Varanasi on Monday regarding the NEET-UG 2024 exam. They demanded the banning of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and a re-conduct of the exam to address its shortcomings.

Memorandum Received

Bhelupur ADCP Neetu Katyayani stated that a memorandum was received from NSUI, highlighting that 60-70 students were peacefully protesting. Their demands included banning the NTA and ensuring an equal playing field for all students by re-conducting the exam.

Supreme Court’s Involvement

On July 8, the Supreme Court acknowledged that the NEET-UG exam held on May 5 was compromised due to a question paper leak. The court asked the NTA to identify the candidates who benefited from the leak and the centers where the leaks occurred.

Government Actions

The Union Health Ministry has postponed the NEET-PG 2024 exam and replaced the NTA chief. A committee has been formed to review and improve the NTA’s functioning.

About NEET-UG
