Nita Ambani Celebrates Indian Athletes at India House During Paris Olympics
New Delhi, August 14: The first-ever India House at the Paris Olympics has been a huge success, attracting Indians, Parisians, and visitors from around the world. India House served as a welcoming space for Indian athletes and visitors, showcasing India’s rich arts and culture.
Celebrating Indian Athletes
Nita M Ambani, International Olympic Committee (IOC) member and Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, honored top Indian athletes at India House. Among the celebrated athletes were Neeraj Chopra, silver medalist, members of the bronze-winning Indian hockey team, wrestler Aman Sehrawat, tennis player Rohan Bopanna, table tennis legends Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra, and shooter Arjun Babuta.
Nita Ambani emphasized the importance of sports and the Olympic movement, stating, “In all of human history, there has never been a more magical force than Sport, to inspire, empower, and unite. In a world that’s more divided and fragmented than ever, Sport truly is one of the greatest equalizers and unifiers of our time.”

India House offered a variety of activities for all ages, including yoga sessions by Praveen Bisht, dance workshops by Hormuzd Khambata Dance Company, and a Mallakhamb showcase by visually challenged athletes. The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre curated vibrant music and dance performances, featuring artists like Bollywood singer Shaan, sitarist Tommy Khosla, and The Raghu Dixit Project.
The culinary experience at India House was a major attraction, with over 40,000 meals sold. Popular dishes included Pani Puri, Butter Chicken, Vada Pav, Dosas, and Biryani. Creative activities like Mehendi by Veena Nagda and Block printing at Swadesh left a lasting impression on visitors.
Iconic Features and Volunteer Support
India House featured iconic elements like The Billion Strong Flame, The Tree of Qualifiers, and the Jharoka photo area. The initiative was supported by hundreds of volunteers and a skilled team of 1,200 individuals, ensuring a memorable experience for all.

Bollywood singer Neeti Mohan praised India House, saying, “It is beautiful. The energy is amazing. My heartiest congratulations to Nita Ambani for doing something incredible.” Singer Shaan expressed his honor in performing at the inauguration, while Miss India France 2024, Giandra Uppilirajan, highlighted the homely feeling and delicious food at India House.
Even non-Indians found India House appealing. A Russian fan shared her excitement, saying, “I love India. It was always my dream to experience Indian culture. India House has made that come true.”
