NIA Raids Home of Key Aide to Naxal Leader Sanjay Deepak Rao in Kerala
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids on Tuesday at the residence of Konath Muralitharan, also known as Ajith or Murali Kannambali, in Kerala’s Ernakulam district. Muralitharan is a former Central Committee member of the banned terror group CPI (Maoist) and a close aide to Naxal leader Sanjay Deepak Rao.
During the raids, the NIA seized several incriminating digital devices and documents. These actions are part of an ongoing investigation into a case registered earlier this year, which aims to probe a conspiracy by members of the Naxal group to wage war against the Government of India. The agency stated that the accused had planned to raise funds and recruit members to further the activities of the Naxals.
