New Leadership Appointments in Indian Ministries

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has announced a series of high-profile bureaucratic appointments in various ministries, marking a reshuffling of leadership in key departments.

Key Appointments

Vivek Joshi

Vivek Joshi, who was the Secretary in the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, is now the Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). He will oversee India’s human resources policy framework, especially in civil services management.

Rajesh Kumar Singh

Rajesh Kumar Singh, previously the Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), will transition to the Department of Defence as an Officer on Special Duty. He will take over as Secretary of the Department of Defence after Aramane Giridhar’s tenure ends on October 31, 2024. Singh’s term has been extended until October 31, 2026.

Katikithala Srinivas

Katikithala Srinivas, who was the Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, is now the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. This move highlights the government’s focus on urban development and infrastructure.

Manoj Govil

Manoj Govil, previously the Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has been appointed as Secretary of the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. He will oversee the allocation and management of government resources.
