A group of 26 Nepali diplomats and officers from 10 key ministries and departments of the Government of Nepal participated in a special training program at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS) in New Delhi, India. The training took place from November 20 to 30, 2024.
The program, organized by the Indian Embassy, covered various topics such as global geopolitical and geo-economic issues, economic diplomacy, India-Nepal relations, shared cultural heritage, digital public infrastructure, and responsible AI. The participants also visited important sites like Rashtrapati Bhawan, DAKSHIN - Global South Centre of Excellence, India's National Disaster Management Authority, and the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya. Cultural visits to Varanasi, Sarnath, and Ayodhya were included.
Upon returning to Nepal, the delegates met with the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, for an interaction and debriefing session. The Ambassador discussed how India could help design more targeted courses in the future.
The participants came from various ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and the Department of Railways.
The program reflects the ongoing commitment to strengthen institutional exchanges between India and Nepal, highlighting the close bilateral relationship between the two countries.
