Nepal Inaugurates Dhulikhel Hospital Ward with India’s Help

Kathmandu, Nepal – On August 8, a new ward building at Dhulikhel Hospital in Dhulikhel Municipality, Kavrepalanchowk, was inaugurated. The project was funded by the Government of India and was inaugurated by Avinash Kumar Singh, First Secretary at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.

The Indian Embassy in Nepal shared on social media, ‘India-Nepal partners in Development, Ward Building of Dhulikhel Hospital at Dhulikhel Municipality, Kavrepalanchowk was inaugurated today by Shri Avinash Kumar Singh, First Secretary.’ The project, a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), was completed at a cost of NPR 42.60 million under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation.’

The Government of India grant was used for constructing the ward building and other facilities. This project is an example of the strong development partnership between India and Nepal. The mayor of Dhulikhel Municipality, political representatives, and hospital directors appreciated India’s continued support in improving healthcare infrastructure in Nepal.

Since 2003, India has undertaken over 551 HICDPs in Nepal, completing 490 projects. In Bagmati Province alone, 106 projects have been completed, including 7 in Kavrepalanchowk. India has also donated 1,009 ambulances and 300 school buses to Nepal, with 236 ambulances and 98 school buses in Bagmati Province. An Advanced Life Support ambulance was gifted to Dhulikhel Hospital in January 2021, significantly aiding emergency healthcare.

The inauguration event was attended by the mayor, Dhulikhel Municipality officials, political representatives, government officials, hospital management, and social workers.
