Neeraj Chopra Wins Silver in Paris Olympics 2024
Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) MP Chandra Shekhar Azad congratulated javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra for winning a silver medal in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. Despite not retaining his gold medal, Neeraj remains the ‘golden boy’ of the country with a best throw of 89.45 meters.
Azad said, ‘I was seeing his match last night. I congratulate Neeraj bhai and the countrymen. He remains our golden boy and he will inspire the youth of the nation.’
BJP MP Suresh Gopi also praised Neeraj, stating, ‘It is a glory for India. I was expecting gold…Whatever he has attained is glory.’
Congress MP Karti Chidambaram added, ‘The whole nation is proud of him. Winning back-to-back medals in the Olympics is not an easy task. He has done something very spectacular. All the best of him to go forward.’
Neeraj’s best throw came on his second attempt, but he struggled with four consecutive foul throws, preventing him from winning gold. His 89.45-meter throw was his second-best performance but not enough to retain his gold. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won gold with a throw of 92.97 meters, breaking the previous Olympic record. Grenada’s Anderson Peters secured the bronze with an 88.54 meters throw.
