Mumbai’s GSB Seva Mandal Secures Record Insurance for Ganesh Festival
The Gaud Saraswat Brahmin (GSB) Seva Mandal at King’s Circle, Mumbai, has secured a record-breaking insurance of Rs 400.58 crore for its five-day Ganesh festival from September 7-11. The insurance covers personal accidents, gold and silver ornaments, fire and peril, and public liability.
In 2022 and 2023, the GSB Seva Mandal festivities were insured for Rs 316.40 crore and Rs 360.40 crore, respectively.
Security Measures
Chairman Amit Dinesh Pai mentioned that a private agency helps with security, employing 875 people working in three shifts. The festival will feature over 100 CCTV cameras, facial recognition cameras, and metal detector gates.
Eco-Friendly Initiatives
Dinesh Pai also emphasized the trust’s focus on environmental concerns, aiming for net-zero carbon emissions. All waste generated will be biodegradable, and the use of flex banners will be reduced in favor of LED hoardings.
