Mumbai Police Detain Two More in NCP Leader Baba Siddique’s Murder Case
The Mumbai Police have detained two individuals from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with the murder of Baba Siddique, a leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction). One of the detained, Harishkumar Balakram, worked at a scrap shop in Pune and provided money and logistics to the accused, Dharmraj and Shivprasad Gautam, who also worked at the same shop. Harish had purchased new mobile phones for the accused before the crime.
On October 14, Pravin Lonkar, another accused, was sent to police custody until October 21 by the Esplanade court. He was arrested on October 13 in Pune. Baba Siddique was shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar and succumbed to his injuries at Lilavati Hospital.
Pravin Lonkar is the brother of Shubham Lonkar, also involved in the conspiracy. An ossification test confirmed that Dharmaraj Kashyap, another accused, is not a minor. The accused were allegedly contracted to kill both Zeeshan and Baba Siddique, with Zeeshan having received threats prior to the incident.
