Mumbai BJP Chief Ashish Shelar Criticizes NCP’s Ajit Pawar
Mumbai Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Ashish Shelar has expressed disapproval over Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Ajit Pawar’s decision to give a ticket to Nawab Malik, who faces serious allegations. Shelar stated that the BJP cannot associate with such individuals and will support the candidate running against Malik in Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar.
Shelar praised Ajit Pawar’s work in Baramati, predicting a comfortable win for him due to his commendable efforts and reputation across Maharashtra. He also criticized the opposition alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi, claiming it lacks significance and is plagued by internal conflicts.
Reflecting on the BJP’s past electoral performance, Shelar acknowledged mistakes in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls but noted a renewed enthusiasm among party workers. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to supporting Milind Deora in the Worli constituency, highlighting his deep understanding of the area.
Shelar clarified that there is no dispute over the Chief Ministerial candidate, with the BJP contesting under Eknath Shinde’s leadership. The BJP is allied with Ajit Pawar-led NCP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena under the Mahayuti banner for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20, with results on November 23.
