New Delhi, October 10: Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ratan Tata, calling it a “sad day for India.” Ambani described Tata as a visionary industrialist, philanthropist, and dear friend. He extended heartfelt condolences to the Tata family and the entire Tata Group.

Ambani shared his grief on social media, stating, “Ratan Tata’s passing is a big loss, not just to the Tata Group, but to every Indian. At a personal level, I lost a dear friend.” He recalled his interactions with Tata, highlighting his respect for Tata’s noble character and human values.

Ambani praised Tata’s contributions to India’s growth and global recognition, noting that Tata transformed the Tata Group into an international enterprise. He emphasized Tata’s role in bringing the best of the world to India and institutionalizing the House of Tata.

Ratan Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, was a respected industrialist who led the Tata Group to new heights. He was the Chairman of Tata Sons from 1991 to 2012 and was later appointed Chairman Emeritus. Tata was also the Chairman of Ratan Tata Trust and Dorabji Tata Trust, two major philanthropic trusts in India. In 2008, he received the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award.

Ambani concluded his tribute with heartfelt condolences to the Tata family, saying, “Ratan, you will always remain in my heart. Om Shanti.”
