Manvi Madhu Kashyap Becomes First Transgender Sub-Inspector in Bihar

For the first time, Bihar has appointed a transgender person, Manvi Madhu Kashyap, as a Sub-Inspector of Police. Manvi expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Rehman Sir, Garima Ma’am, and others who supported her journey. She shared her struggles, including initial rejections from institutes that believed she would spoil the environment. However, after receiving admission and government help, her life improved significantly.

Manvi also highlighted the support from her family, including her parents, brothers, and sisters, who stood by her during tough times. She credited Rehman Sir for helping her get admission and acknowledged his role in her success.

In a related development, the Social Welfare Department of Tripura has requested all District Magistrates to form transgender protection cells. These cells will act as grievance redressal centers for the transgender community, ensuring their safety and security. The Director of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, Lalfaktlinga Hragnchal, mentioned that the state Transgender Welfare Board has already been formed to look after the welfare and empowerment of the transgender community.
