New Delhi, September 5: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia emphasized the importance of teachers in shaping India’s future during the ‘Nigam Shikshak Samman Samaroh, 2024′ on Teachers’ Day. He called for teachers’ salaries to surpass those of IAS officers and Cabinet Secretaries, citing international examples to stress the need for elevating the status of educators.

The event, held at the Civic Centre, began with the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ and a welcome speech from the Additional Commissioner of the Corporation. He said, “If we want to build 2047’s India, we have to make a resolve that teachers in our country are paid more than any bureaucrat.”

He also mentioned that in India, the ‘guru’ (teacher) comes before God, and this respect should be reflected in teachers’ salaries.
