Manipur CM N Biren Singh Inspects Flood-Affected Areas and Plans for Future Solutions
On Friday, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh inspected flood-affected areas in Imphal. He discussed the need for a comprehensive plan to prevent future floods and expressed gratitude to security personnel for their relief efforts.
Heavy Rains Cause Damage
CM Singh noted that heavy rains have caused significant damage in various parts of Manipur, particularly in the Senapati and Ukhrul districts. Two people lost their lives in Senapati, and many areas are flooded.
Government Response
Singh has sent the Chief Secretary to Delhi to address the state’s requirements. Relief materials are being provided, and efforts are underway to protect against further flooding.
Operation Jal Raahat
Assam Rifles launched Operation Jal Raahat to prevent flooding in Imphal. They activated a Flood Control Room and deployed Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) columns, rescuing 550 civilians and providing medical assistance.
