Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu Visits India
On October 6, Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu arrived in New Delhi for his first official visit to India. He was warmly welcomed by Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Kiriti Vardhan Singh. This visit, from October 6-10, is at the invitation of President Droupadi Murmu.
Strengthening India-Maldives Relations
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed his appreciation for President Muizzu’s commitment to enhancing the relationship between India and the Maldives. Jaishankar shared his confidence that Muizzu’s discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will further strengthen their friendly ties.
Meetings and Discussions
During his visit, President Muizzu will meet with President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other senior officials. This marks his second visit to India this year, following his attendance at Prime Minister Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in June.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, also welcomed President Muizzu, highlighting the visit’s potential to boost the comprehensive bilateral partnership between the two nations.
