In a significant operation, Malaysian police have arrested 12 individuals, including 10 Taiwanese nationals, following raids on an international drug syndicate. The raids took place in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, leading to the seizure of various drugs and weapons.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of drugs such as ecstasy, Erimin 5, cocaine, methamphetamine, ketamine, and heroin, valued at approximately 118 million Malaysian ringgit. Additionally, authorities recovered 15 handguns, a submachine gun, and 900 rounds of ammunition.
The raids were conducted in Shah Alam, Balakong, and Kepong. Police also seized five luxury cars, a forklift, and drug-manufacturing equipment linked to the syndicate's operations.
The suspects, aged between 20 and 50, included 10 Taiwanese men, one Malaysian man, and one Thai woman. They held various roles such as "chemist," "runner," and "coordinator." Six of the Taiwanese suspects had previous criminal records.
The syndicate had been renting a factory in Malaysia to produce illegal substances intended for smuggling to Japan and Cambodia. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to uncover more about the syndicate's operations and apprehend additional suspects.
