In Jalgaon, Maharashtra, Girish Mahajan, a minister and BJP leader, expressed his desire for the Mahayuti government to return to power. He emphasized the need to continue welfare measures for the poor, farmers, laborers, and students. Mahajan stated, “I prayed to Lord Hanuman for the Mahayuti government to come to power again so we can enhance irrigation, education, and provide 24-hour electricity to farmers.”

Mahajan, a six-term MLA since 1995, filed his nomination for the Jamner Assembly constituency, aiming for a seventh term. He noted the unprecedented enthusiasm among supporters during his roadshow before filing his nomination.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections will see 10,905 nomination papers from 7,995 candidates across 288 constituencies. The elections are scheduled for November 20, with vote counting on November 23. The Model Code of Conduct has been in effect since October 15, 2024, with the election notification issued on October 22. The deadline for filing nominations was October 30, and withdrawals are allowed until November 4.

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office reported 1,648 complaints of code of conduct violations via the C-Vigil app, with 1,646 resolved. The app allows citizens to report violations, prompting investigations and actions by the Election Commission.
