Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan Pays Tribute to Shivaji Maharaj, Lokmanya Tilak, and Annabhau Sathe

On his first day as the Governor of Maharashtra, CP Radhakrishnan paid tributes to three important figures: Shivaji Maharaj, Lokmanya Tilak, and Annabhau Sathe. He offered floral tributes to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Vidhan Bhavan complex.

Radhakrishnan also honored Lokmanya Tilak on the occasion of Lokmanya Tilak Punyatithi and garlanded the portrait of Annabhau Sathe, whose birth anniversary is celebrated on August 1. The event was attended by Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar, Legislature Secretary Jitendra Bhole, and other officials.

Earlier, on Wednesday, CP Radhakrishnan was sworn in as the Governor of Maharashtra at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai, succeeding Governor Ramesh Bais. Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, administered the oath of office. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadanvis and Ajit Pawar, and other dignitaries were present at the ceremony.

The ceremony began with the National Anthem and the State Song performed by the Police Band and concluded with the National Anthem. Various officials, including Minister of Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil, former CM Narayan Rane, DGP Rashmi Shukla, and Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, attended the event.

Vidhan Bhavan -: Vidhan Bhavan is the building where the Maharashtra state legislature meets. It is located in Mumbai.

Punyatithi -: Punyatithi is a term used to mark the death anniversary of a respected person. It is a day to remember and honor them.

Birth anniversary -: A birth anniversary is the day when we celebrate the birthday of a person who has passed away. It is a way to remember their contributions.

Eknath Shinde -: Eknath Shinde is the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He is the head of the state government.

Devendra Fadanvis -: Devendra Fadanvis is one of the Deputy Chief Ministers of Maharashtra. He helps the Chief Minister in running the state.

Ajit Pawar -: Ajit Pawar is also a Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He works alongside the Chief Minister and other officials.

Sworn in -: Sworn in means taking an official oath to start a new job or position. CP Radhakrishnan took an oath to become the Governor of Maharashtra.
