Maharashtra Chief Minister Shinde announced that 12 lakh people took part in Ganesh Visarjan at Girgaon Chowpatty, Mumbai, on Ananta Chaturdashi, the final day of the ten-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Shinde stated, “Nearly 12 lakh people are present here at Girgaon Chowpatty. Thousands of Ganpati idols are being brought here for immersion. Ganeshotsav is the biggest festival of Maharashtra and people celebrate it despite their social status.”

Shinde also offered prayers to Lord Ganesha at his residence. Union Minister Piyush Goyal attended Ganpati Visarjan in Malad. Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, Telangana, thousands of devotees participated in the Ganpati Visarjan procession.

Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi, began on September 7 and concluded on Ananta Chaturdashi. During this festival, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. Devotees across India and abroad celebrate Lord Ganesha’s wisdom and intelligence.
