On September 24, the divine idol of Lord Shri Ramlala in Ayodhya was adorned with a special Shubhavastram. This garment was decorated with the traditional Aipan art, a ritualistic art form made by women of the Kumaon Region in Uttarakhand.

The Shubhavastram was prepared by skilled craftsmen from Uttarakhand and presented to the Shri Ram temple by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. This event not only showcased the dedication and craftsmanship of Uttarakhand but also added a new chapter to the state’s cultural prosperity on a national stage.

Chief Minister Dhami has been actively promoting the folk arts, music, dance, and crafts of Uttarakhand. He encourages local artisans and inspires the youth to connect with their cultural roots. The state’s folk arts are being presented at various international events, giving Uttarakhand global recognition.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s office, many steps are being taken to preserve and promote the state’s cultural heritage using modern resources and techniques. Therefore, youth are being connected to culture through digital means and social media, and are being trained in traditional arts in collaboration with cultural institutions and art organizations.
