Leander Paes Believes Novak Djokovic Can Win His 8th Wimbledon Title

Former Indian tennis player Leander Paes thinks that Novak Djokovic from Serbia has a great chance to win his eighth Wimbledon title. Despite being 38 years old and having knee issues, Djokovic has made it to the semi-finals of Wimbledon 2024. He will face Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-final, and if he wins, he might play against Carlos Alcaraz or Daniil Medvedev in the final.

If Djokovic wins, he will match Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles. Paes, an 18-time Grand Slam champion, praised Djokovic, calling him the ‘Greatest of All Time’ and believes he can win more Grand Slams before retiring.

Paes also mentioned the exciting future of tennis with young players like Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, and Frances Tiafoe. He highlighted Alcaraz’s achievements, noting that at 21, Alcaraz has already won the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. Paes believes Alcaraz could become the youngest player to win a career Grand Slam if he wins the Australian Open.

In men’s doubles, India’s Rohan Bopanna and his partner Matthew Ebden were eliminated in the second round. Paes spoke with Ebden, who said it was a tough day due to the rainy and cold weather, making it hard to stay focused.
