Laxman Dhobale Joins NCP-SP with Supriya Sule Ahead of Maharashtra Elections

In a significant political move, Laxman Dhobale, a former minister and BJP leader, has joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) – Sharad Pawar faction. This event took place in the presence of Supriya Sule, a prominent NCP MP. Dhobale, who was once a guardian minister of Solapur district, had previously been part of the undivided NCP before switching to the BJP. His return to the Sharad Pawar faction is seen as a setback for the Mahayuti Alliance.

In related developments, Umesh Patil, the chief spokesperson for the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP, resigned and met with Sharad Pawar in Mumbai. Patil submitted his resignation to NCP President Sunil Tatkare.

Meanwhile, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress, is actively negotiating seat-sharing agreements. Sanjay Raut, a leader from Shiv Sena (UBT), assured that there are no differences within the alliance regarding seat sharing. He expressed confidence in the MVA’s success in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, predicting that Shiv Sena (UBT) will win 100 seats.

As the election date of November 20 approaches, both the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the MVA are ramping up their preparations. The election results for all 288 constituencies will be announced on November 23. In the previous elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena had significant wins, with the BJP securing 105 seats in 2019 and 122 in 2014.
