In New Delhi, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Kumari Selja has expressed her strong position as a potential candidate for the Chief Minister of Haryana, should the Congress party win the upcoming elections. Selja emphasized that the decision will be made by the Party High Command, but she believes her seniority and contributions make her a significant contender.

In an interview, Selja stated, “The high command will decide, but I believe I am in the consideration zone due to my seniority and work.” She dismissed any rumors of her joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, affirming her commitment to Congress. “Selja will not go anywhere,” she assured, addressing speculations about her political allegiance.

Selja also expressed confidence in Congress’s performance, highlighting the efforts of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress president in Haryana. She noted that Rahul’s yatra had a positive impact on the party’s standing.

Haryana is set to hold elections on October 5 to elect its 90-member state legislative assembly, with results to be announced on October 8. In the previous 2019 elections, the BJP secured 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats.
