Kuldeep Yadav Talks About Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Virat Kohli’s Retirement from T20I

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 9: Indian cricketer Kuldeep Yadav shared his thoughts on the retirement of Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Virat Kohli from T20I cricket. He believes their decision is personal and opens opportunities for younger players.

The T20 World Cup final was an emotional event for Indian fans. India ended their 13-year ICC World Cup drought with a thrilling 7-run victory over South Africa in Barbados. However, it was also a moment of sorrow as the three star players announced their retirement from the shortest format of cricket.

Virat Kohli mentioned that it was time to pass the baton to the younger generation. Kuldeep Yadav echoed this sentiment, saying, “It is their personal decision. They have achieved a lot for India. I hope that youngsters will get good opportunities. They announced their retirement after winning the T20 World Cup and there is no better achievement than that.”

India’s victory was secured by the efforts of the pace trio Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya, who made the opposition batters work hard for each run.

On Thursday morning, the T20 World Cup-winning Indian team arrived in Delhi to a grand welcome from fans. They later had an open bus victory parade in Mumbai, from Marine Drive to the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) awarded the team Rs 125 crore in prize money.
