Kirti Vardhan Singh Celebrates PIO Day and Strengthens India-Malaysia Ties in Kuala Lumpur

Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, participated in the second Person of Indian Origin (PIO) Day Malaysia celebration in Kuala Lumpur. During his visit, he praised the PIO community for their efforts in celebrating their heritage and uniting the diverse community in Malaysia.

Singh expressed his pleasure in attending the event and congratulated the organizers and the PIO community for their dedication. He also met with representatives from the Global Organisation of Persons of Indian Origin (GOPIO) Malaysia and GOPIO International to discuss enhancing people-to-people ties between India and the Indian diaspora abroad.

Singh commended the Indian diaspora for their role in connecting India to the world and strengthening bilateral ties. He also interacted with the leading business community in Malaysia, appreciating their support for economic engagement between India and Malaysia.

Additionally, Singh attended the inaugural ceremony of the 15th GOPIO International Convention in Kuala Lumpur, praising GOPIO International’s efforts in fostering beneficial exchanges and collaborations among Persons of Indian Origin worldwide.

Singh also witnessed the operationalization of the Ayurveda Chair at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, marking a significant step in the collaboration between India and Malaysia in traditional medicine, especially Ayurveda.
