Kidnap and Murder Case in Hyderabad
Search for Main Accused Bathina Dwarakanath Reddy
In Medchal-Malkajgiri, Telangana, five individuals have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Koya Venkatappanna Reddy, a 54-year-old from East Sainagar, Hyderabad. The main suspect, Bathina Dwarakanath Reddy, remains at large, according to Cyberabad Police.
Venkatappanna Reddy was reported missing by his wife on October 5, after he failed to return from work on October 4. His phone was unreachable, prompting a police investigation. On October 6, five suspects were detained and confessed to the crime.
The suspects revealed that Venkatappanna and Dwarakanath had known each other for four years, having worked together in a catering and cleaning business at Kakinada Port. Financial disagreements arose when Venkatappanna claimed Dwarakanath owed him Rs 28 lakh. After their business failed, Venkatappanna moved to Hyderabad and worked as an Assistant General Manager at MEIL, Balanagar.
Despite attempts to settle the debt, tensions escalated, leading Dwarakanath to conspire with Sudhakar Reddy to eliminate Venkatappanna. On October 4, they kidnapped him, made him unconscious with chloroform, and threw him into the Krishna River from Beechupally Bridge.
The police recovered Venkatappanna’s body near Budampadu, 15 kilometers from the bridge. Special teams have been formed to capture the absconding Dwarakanath Reddy. Items such as the victim’s gold ring, Scooty, and the vehicle used in the crime have been seized. The investigation continues.
