Kerala Government Suspends Two IAS Officers

The Kerala government has suspended two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, N Prasanth and K Gopalakrishnan, for disciplinary breaches. The suspension orders were issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) on November 11.
Reasons for Suspension
N Prasanth, who served as the Special Secretary for the Agriculture Department, was suspended for making derogatory remarks on social media against A Jayathilak, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department. These remarks were deemed to undermine the public image of the administrative machinery and violate several rules of the All India Service Conduct Rules of 1968.
K Gopalakrishnan, the Director of Industries, was suspended for allegedly creating a religion-based WhatsApp group intended to sow disunity among civil servants. Despite his claims that the group was created without his consent, a police inquiry found no evidence of his device being hacked.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took action based on an inquiry report by Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan. The GAD order stated that both officers' actions were in violation of the All India Service Conduct Rules and could potentially create divisiveness within the Indian Administrative Service in the state.
