Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh Shine in Hockey India Junior South Zone Championship

On Day 2 of the Hockey India Junior South Zone Championship 2024, held in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh emerged victorious in their respective women’s matches, while Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka triumphed in the men’s fixtures.

Women’s Matches

Hockey Kerala vs. Le Puducherry Hockey

Hockey Kerala defeated Le Puducherry Hockey 5-0. Aadilakshmi M scored twice (16′, 60′), with additional goals from Sruthi Suresh (7′), Devipriya KS (19′), and Captain Piyoosha S (34′).

Hockey Karnataka vs. Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu

Hockey Karnataka won 3-1 against the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu. Manish Poonamma Cd (44′) scored first, followed by Tamil Nadu’s Captain Mumanja R (45′). Deepika R (53′) and Rakshitha J (56′) secured the win for Karnataka.

Hockey Andhra Pradesh vs. Telangana Hockey

Hockey Andhra Pradesh defeated Telangana Hockey 11-0. Ankitha Bommu (1′, 15′, 54′), Lalitha Kotari (12′, 41′, 53′), and Bobbili Jhansi (29′, 44′, 48′) each scored hat-tricks, with additional goals from Captain Lomata Harathi (21′) and Yuvarani Thokala (45′).

Men’s Matches

Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu vs. Le Puducherry Hockey

The Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu defeated Le Puducherry Hockey 7-0. Vishal S (11′, 53′) and Sundarajith M (54′, 58′) scored twice each, with additional goals from P Kuberan (6′), Alagu Mohana Priyan A (26′), and Manimaran V (28′).

Telangana Hockey vs. Kerala Hockey

Telangana Hockey won 3-0 against Kerala Hockey. Pradeep Kodapa (15′, 52′) scored twice, and Captain Manoj Aggu (40′) added another goal.

Hockey Karnataka vs. Hockey Andhra Pradesh

Hockey Karnataka defeated Hockey Andhra Pradesh 4-0. Hrithik Aiyappa (6′) and Kiran Reddy (7′) scored early, followed by goals from Harishit Kumar (42′) and Akhil Aiyappa BN (45′).
