Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge Announces 7th Pay Commission Benefits for State Employees
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 16: The Karnataka government has announced that the 7th Pay Commission will come into effect from August 1, benefiting around 14 to 15 lakh state employees. Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge stated that this was one of the demands of the people and was included in their manifesto.
In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the decision to implement the 7th Pay Commission was approved. The meeting, held on Monday after the first day of the assembly session, also saw the approval of many development projects in the state.
Deputy CM DK Shivakumar confirmed the decision with a post on X, calling it ‘sweet news for government employees.’ State government employees will now see a 27.5% hike in their salaries from August 1. This decision is expected to cost the state exchequer approximately Rs 17440 crore annually.
