Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara Responds to MUDA Scam Allegations
In Bengaluru, Karnataka, the state’s Home Minister, G Parameshwara, addressed the opposition’s demand for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation over the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. Parameshwara emphasized the importance of following the law, stating, “Individuals can have opinions. There are laws. We must go by them.”
Regarding the FIR against relatives of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Parameshwara mentioned that some accused have been arrested, and authorities are searching for Gopal Joshi, who is currently absconding. He assured that more information would be available once the investigation is complete.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Shaina NC criticized the ruling Congress and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, claiming there is sufficient evidence for the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) to act. She pointed to the resignation of MUDA chairman Mari Gowda and Siddaramaiah’s offer to return land as compensation as evidence of corruption.
Mari Gowda resigned, citing health issues, and stated that his resignation was not due to pressure from the Chief Minister. The ongoing investigation by the ED aims to uncover the truth behind the alleged MUDA land allotment scam.
