Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Joins ‘Jan Andolan Yatra’ to Expose BJP Scams

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, along with other state ministers, joined the Congress’ ‘Jan Andolan Yatra’ bike rally in Mandya district. The rally aimed to expose alleged scams by the previous BJP-led government, including a Rs 87 crore irregularity in the Bhovi corporation.

The ‘Jan Andolan Yatra’ was organized to counter the BJP-JDS’s ‘Padayatra’, which highlighted the alleged MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) scam involving Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, BM Parvathi. During the rally, DK Shivakumar played a video showing opposition leaders HD Kumaraswamy and BS Yediyurappa criticizing each other.

DK Shivakumar stated, “They (BJP) think that we are saying it for a political reason…We showed what they had spoken. Kumaraswamy had said that he would see that the PM gives sanction to the Mekedatu Project within 5 minutes…I wanted to show the public what Yediyurappa spoke on Kumaraswamy, what Kumaraswamy spoke on BJP and the PM…”

Meanwhile, JDS State Youth Unit President Nikhil Kumaraswamy mentioned that the BJP-JDS ‘Padayatra’ was organized to address the alleged MUDA scam and corruption in Valmiki’s developmental works. He noted that Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah had admitted to the misuse of Rs 89 crore. The ‘Padayatra’ is set to conclude with a big rally and ‘Samavesha’ in Mysore on Saturday.
