Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], October 1: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamiah expressed his surprise after his wife, Parvati, decided to surrender all 14 plots allotted to her by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Siddharamiah shared on social media platform X that his wife had endured significant hardship due to a political conspiracy against him.

He regretted involving his wife in the political matter, which led to her mental harassment. Siddharamiah stated, “My wife, Parvati, has returned the plots of land that were taken without compensation from the land acquired by the MUDA in Mysore. It is well known to the people of the state that opposition parties have fabricated false allegations against me to achieve political vendetta and have dragged my family into controversy. My stance has always been that we must fight against this injustice without bowing down.”

He added, “However, my wife, who has suffered due to the political conspiracy directed against me, has taken the decision to return these plots, which has surprised me. I regret that my wife, who has remained out of politics for the past four decades and limited her involvement to family matters, has been subjected to mental harassment as a victim of this political vendetta against me.”

Earlier on Monday, after the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) booked Karnataka CM Siddharamiah for money laundering in a case linked to the alleged MUDA land allotment scam, his wife wrote to the MUDA Commissioner offering to surrender the 14 plots allotted to her. On September 27, the Lokayukta Police filed an FIR against Siddharamiah and others in connection with the alleged MUDA land allotment scam. The FIR was filed by the Mysuru Lokayukta under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 351, 420, 340, 09, and 120B, among others.

The FIR followed a Special Court in Bengaluru’s order directing an investigation into allegations of illegalities in the allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to Parvati by the MUDA. The Mysuru Lokayukta has officially started the inquiry and investigation into the case linked to the MUDA land allotment scam from Tuesday.
